A Beautiful Reimagining of Family Living
There’s something special about seeing a kitchen truly transformed — from a tired, outdated space into a warm, elegant heart of the home. This recent project in West Byfleet, Surrey, captures that perfectly.
Working closely with our clients, we reimagined their existing kitchen to create a stylish and functional space designed for both everyday living and entertaining.
The Brief
Our clients wanted to refresh their existing kitchen without any major building work. The layout already flowed beautifully into their manicured garden, but the design and finishes no longer reflected how they wanted to live as a family.
The goal was clear: to create a sociable, practical, and elegant kitchen that made full use of the generous space while keeping everything within comfortable reach.
The Design
We designed a painted Shaker kitchen (Linton door) in a timeless palette of Talpa paired with a striking Forest Green accent. The combination brings warmth and depth while connecting beautifully with the garden views beyond.
Although no structural changes were made, this was a complete re-model of the existing space — including new flooring, lighting, and appliances — creating a brand-new look and flow.
Function Meets Form
Large kitchens can be just as challenging to design as compact ones — it’s all about planning the logistics. Together with our clients, we reviewed every aspect of how the kitchen would be used, balancing aesthetics with practicality.
The substantial island became the natural focal point — perfect for cooking, socialising, and family time. We incorporated the induction hob into the island, with generous prep space either side, plus a warming drawer, prep sink, and additional waste bin for effortless workflow.
Tall integrated fridges and freezers handle the family’s weekly shop with ease, while tall larder units provide accessible and efficient storage, all within comfortable reach from the island.
The Finishing Touches
To complete the design, we guided our clients on paint choices — selecting Farrow & Ball ‘Livid’ as a sophisticated backdrop behind the tall housings and Little Greene ‘Slaked Lime’ to harmonise with the cabinetry. Together, these colours create a calm, balanced feel that enhances the overall elegance of the space.
The Result
The result is a truly stunning transformation — a kitchen that feels fresh, inspiring, and ready for family life. From lazy Sunday breakfasts to large social gatherings, it’s a space designed for every occasion.
We’re delighted to have helped our clients future-proof their home, creating a kitchen that will be loved and enjoyed for many years to come.
