Location: West Byfleet, Surrey
Style: Painted Shaker – Linton Door
Colours: Artichoke & Talpa
Work Surfaces: ‘Mystery’ Quartz
We first introduced this West Byfleet kitchen project earlier this year, when our clients were at the beginning of what was to become a major transformation of their home.
The original kitchen and dining room were separate spaces, and our clients wanted to create one open, welcoming room that would work much better for family life and entertaining.
Now, the building work is complete, the kitchen is installed and we’ve been back to capture the finished project — so we’re excited to share the full before, during and after story.
Before: A Kitchen Ready for Transformation
The original kitchen was perfectly functional, but the separate dining room meant that the space felt divided.
Our clients wanted to be able to cook, entertain and spend time with family without feeling disconnected from the rest of the room. The brief was therefore about much more than simply replacing the kitchen — it was about completely rethinking how the space could work.
During: Creating One Open-Plan Space
Working alongside the great team at KW Developments, the building works transformed the original layout.
The wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed to create one larger open-plan space, while the existing dining room window was replaced with new patio doors, creating a much stronger connection with the garden.
The project also included underfloor heating, a new ceiling, plastering, plumbing, electrics and decoration — creating the perfect blank canvas for the new kitchen.
Our 3D CAD visuals played an important part throughout the design process, allowing our clients to see how the proposed kitchen would look and work within the newly created space before installation began.
After: A Beautiful Painted Shaker Kitchen
The finished kitchen features our Linton Painted Shaker door in a combination of Artichoke and Talpa, complemented by American Bronze handles and knobs.
The cabinetry has a Classic Oak internal carcase, adding warmth and quality inside the furniture, while 30mm ‘Mystery’ Quartz work surfaces provide a beautiful and durable finish throughout.
The overall result is a timeless kitchen that feels warm, elegant and completely at home within the newly created open-plan space.
Designed Around How Our Clients Live
As always, the finer details of the design were driven by our clients’ requirements.
A generous larder unit, Le Mans corner carousel and pull-out spice rack units provide practical storage, making everyday ingredients easy to find and ensuring that every part of the kitchen is put to good use.
The appliance selection was also carefully considered, with a combination of Siemens appliances including a single oven, compact full-steam oven, integrated warming drawer, Flex Induction hob, dishwasher, built-in fridge and single-zone wine cooler.
Together, these features create a kitchen that is as practical as it is beautiful — ready for everyday family life and those occasions when the house is full of family and friends.
The Result
The transformation from two separate rooms into one beautifully connected kitchen and dining space has completely changed the way our clients use their home.
And, most importantly, they love it.
“We are delighted with our new kitchen which has completely transformed the way in which we use the space. Entertaining and having our growing extended family to visit is now so much easier and enjoyable.”
They also described their experience of working with us as:
“A very personal first-class service.”
From the initial conversations and 3D visualisations, through appliance selection and kitchen design, to installation and liaison with the building contractor, it was a pleasure to be part of this transformation.
