We couldn’t have asked for a better response to our Vita Nova Showroom Showcase Thursday 10th September, with more than 90 wonderful guests joining us throughout the afternoon and evening to celebrate our newly refurbished showroom, our new kitchen displays and the launch of Vita Nova Homeware.
But amongst all the lovely comments, conversations and compliments we received during the day, one particular comment from a client really stayed with us.
“Do you know, I think about you every day.”
At first, it made us smile. But when she explained what she meant, we realised just how perfectly it summed up what we strive to achieve with every kitchen we design.
We all use our kitchens every single day. And when a kitchen has been carefully designed around the people who use it, the difference is felt every time you walk into the room.
Every unit is positioned for a reason. Every appliance is exactly where it needs to be. Everything has its place. The flow of the space simply works. There’s no reaching awkwardly, no unnecessary steps, no having to think about where something is or why it was designed that way.
It just works.
And then there’s the other side of it. A kitchen should be a joy to look at, too. The colours, textures, finishes, lighting and little details all come together to create a space that you enjoy being in every single day.
So, when our client told us she thinks about us every day, what she was really saying was that she notices the thought that went into her kitchen every time she uses it.
And that, for us, is one of the greatest compliments we could receive.
A wonderful day of celebration
Our Showcase was an opportunity to bring together so many of the people who have been part of our Vita Nova journey — existing and past clients, friends, local businesses and professionals, along with people discovering Vita Nova for the first time.
Guests were welcomed with fabulous gin cocktails from Sasbery Spirits, enjoyed an afternoon and evening of cookery demonstrations with Siemens chef Emma, and had the chance to taste an incredible selection of dishes prepared in our new kitchen displays.
From Gochujang-Glazed Skewers and Air Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls to Miso Mac & Cheese and Dark Chocolate Caramel Fondants, there was certainly no shortage of delicious food!
We were also delighted to officially introduce Vita Nova Homeware, a collection that has grown naturally from Clare’s love of interiors and from helping our kitchen clients create spaces that feel considered and complete.
It was wonderful to see guests exploring the new showroom, discovering the homeware collection and, most importantly, spending time with us.
We were also incredibly proud to raise the fabulous amount of £420 for Challengers through our raffle, supporting a charity that does such important work helping disabled children and young people experience play, friendship and adventure.
More than a showroom
For us, the day was about much more than unveiling some new displays.
It was about celebrating 50 years of the Cross family being part of Byfleet Village, almost four decades of Graham working in the kitchen industry, and the relationships we have built with our clients, suppliers and local community along the way.
Some of the people who joined us have been clients for many years. Some have returned to us after decades. Others are just beginning to consider their own kitchen project.
And that’s what makes days like this so special.
Because ultimately, it’s the people that make what we do so rewarding.
So, to everyone who came through our doors, raised a glass, sampled the food, browsed the homeware, entered our raffle, shared stories, congratulated us or simply stopped by to say hello — thank you.
We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting so many new ones.
And to our lovely client who gave us our headline of the day…
